A Purposeful Partnership: Boise Paper and the American Red Cross
As part of our Paper with Purpose promise, community is at the heart of every Boise Paper endeavor, which is why we’re proud to partner with organizations, like the American Red Cross, that impact local communities – especially in a time of need.
Boise Paper is an American Red Cross Disaster Responder member, pledging year-round support so that the organization can be ready to respond when needed. Through our unique paper partnership, Boise Paper helps offset Red Cross administrative costs by donating paper so that more funds are redirected to their critical humanitarian efforts. Our support helps ensure that the Red Cross is prepared and ready to quickly meet the needs of disaster survivors across the country, anytime and anywhere.
A Helping Hand When You’re in Need
Founded in the U.S. in 1881 by patent clerk, teacher and Civil War nurse, Clara Barton, the organization has deep roots in helping people in need. The Red Cross serves our friends and neighbors when they are most vulnerable – whether it’s a hurricane affecting millions or a home fire affecting one family – the Red Cross staff and volunteers are at the ready to provide urgent relief, including food, shelter and other essentials to people in their time of greatest need.
Every year, the Red Cross responds to nearly 64,000 disasters, big and small, with help and hope.
A Purposeful Partnership
As a sponsor of the Red Cross since 2015, we’re proud to be a part of a community that helps people in every corner of the world.
Boise Paper donates a significant amount of the office paper the Red Cross uses annually, negating administrative costs so that they can focus on preparing for and providing urgent aid. 2017 was a year marked with extraordinary, record-breaking disasters, and compassionate support from companies like ours enabled the Red Cross to mobilize and respond immediately to the needs of hundreds of thousands of people whose lives were upended. More than 59,000 disaster workers were mobilized to work in countless ways to help families in need, opening more than 1,100 shelters, serving more than 17 million meals and snacks, distributing more than 8 million relief items, and so much more.
